The lush green rice fields of South India

The magnificent buttercup tree

The tree is popularly called a buttercup tree because its leaves resemble a buttercup. It is a magnificent tree that takes roots like the banyan all around the base of the tree.

"The days were red-hot and the evenings weary
Thick green leaves glistened in the sun
Tunneling tiny translucent sky-spaces
I thought of you, again, in my daydreams.
When the brown cows returned with sun-patches
The dusty haze of their hoofs hid the orange sun
I had thought of you, briefly, in my cluttered mind
Before I moved on to my worldly business"

A little girl from the pages of history .This is a photograph of a full-size black-and-white photo which should perhaps be dating back to 1940's

Sunrise over Hyderabad

Sunrise as seen from my apartment in Hyderabad : the intriguing thing is that this is the first time I could capture the fascinating golden yellow colour of the sky .In all other pictures it has either been ochre or silver-grey . The texture of the sky is fascinating .The only disappointment is the appearance of a dim outline of the clothesline in the foreground which has entirely spoilt the beauty of the picture .

A narrow gorge that holds almost still water in Mekedatu has smooth polished boulders that look like exquisite sculptures made by a seasoned artist. Before the dams came the flow of the water would have been swift enough to cause such fine sculpting of the boulders ! Posted by Hello
